Christmas comes but once a year, and with it comes Christmas cheers and some pretty fancy Christmas wedding ideas to boot. Today’s inspiration was inspired by The Twelve Days of Christmas, which is a subtle and oh so elegant way to pay homage to the festive season. It includes muted flowers, romantic candlelight and some of the prettiest gowns and accessories we ever did see. Get ready to swoon!
The Twelve Days of Christmas is a fine art love story, shot at St Giles House, Wimborne, England – home of Lord & Lady Shaftesbury.
ST GILES HOUSE
“The chandeliers have fallen and the wallpaper peels away, but the moments lived within this historic family home whisper through the cracks in the stucco. The passage of time has not always been kind, but a sense of stately elegance remains. Inside, the bride – young, vibrant, perhaps a daughter of high society – awaits her true but absent love. From a distance, the true love sends ever more elaborate gifts while our heroine restlessly paces the floors and ballrooms, hoping for his return.” – Eleanor Jane
Christmas Wedding Ideas
Eleanor Jane Photography and Soph Rowe have beautifully styled and captured one of the most romantic and innovative Christmas wedding ideas we’ve ever seen to grace the RMW pages. There’s not a Christmas tree in sight, but instead elegant references to the wonderful song The Twelve Days of Christmas. Yep, Partridges, French Hens, and FIVE GOLD RINGS. Plus, truly stunning bridal fashion, beauty and accessories, accompanied with muted florals in baby pink, caramel and white hues, complementing the interior of St Giles House perfectly.
INSPIRATION & STYLING
“We referenced all twelve of the gifts named in the song, some more conceptually than others, amid a collection of beautiful bridal portraits. We used antique pieces within the story – from small details such as the brass pipe and handwritten dance card to the marching band drums in the grand finale. The colours are a soft, feminine take on a winter palette featuring dusky pinks, grey marble and warm antique brass tones. Our florist selected the new garden rose – the Toffee Rose – and burgundy ranunculus to add depth to the floral design. Florals were tied with Lancaster & Cornish hand-dyed, vegan-friendly bamboo silk ribbons. ” – Eleanor Jane
